A chandelier brings the warmth of Yi festival experience to the dining experience
In this project, my main focus is cultural appreciation. I want to incorporate elements of ethnic minority cultures into my design, allowing more people to become aware of, understand, and even develop an interest in these cultures. The product has a broad audience—it can appeal to those interested in culture as well as those in need of interior lighting.

Research
Primarily residing in the mountainous regions of southwestern China
The Yi ethnic group of southwestern China is known for its Torch Festival, rich folklore, unique Nuosu script, and vibrant traditional clothing with intricate patterns. Rooted in animism and ancestor worship, their culture reflects a deep connection to nature and community.

FIRE TORCH FESTIVAL
The Yi ethnic Fire Torch Festival is a traditional celebration held by the Yi people, typically around the 24th day of the sixth lunar month. It features, traditional dances, music, and wrestling competitions. The festival symbolizes the Yi people's respect for fire, praying for a good harvest and warding off evil spirits.

Festival
Cluster lighting around a round fire pit at a festival creates a warm, inviting atmosphere. The circular shape of the lights matches the fire pit, making it feel like the center of the gathering. This setup draws people closer, adding to the cozy and shared experience of being together around the fire.
SKETCHES
To simplied the complex form of silver crown, I design 3 layers for the main part of light. Secondly, I design vertical structure inside to make it show the pattern on the paper. In addition, I make the whole form tilted and shrink down to mimic the crown, and add tassel at bottom.
